3 Things You Need to Know to be Your Own WAZE as a Speaker

WAZE is intuitive in many ways. For you to get to your final destination you need to know where you are going. WAZE can’t do that for you, as amazing as this Israeli technology is for us to use.

Speaking, in any capacity, is a lot like using WAZE.

  1. You first need to know the address of your destination; you need to know where you want to end up. The speaking wheel has many spokes: formal speaking, impromptu, one-on-one, small group, meeting leader, meeting contributor, and so many more.
  2. Once you have selected the spoke on the communication wheel, your MINDSET is key your mindset, how you think about speaking and how you look at the opportunity are key to how you will come across.
  3. The third step is to look at the verbal, vocal, and visual and decide how the 3 V’s can match your destination. The answer is always in the V’s, what you say, how you say, and what you look like saying it.

It’s not that formal is good and conversational is bad. Your 3 V’s need to match the spoke on your communication wheel to get to have success and move your agenda forward.
