It’s Only Sushi

To eat outside at Sakura you have to first go inside. I am standing there waiting to ask for an outside table when I turn and run smack into someone I knew. We’ll call him Soprano. Running into him was noteworthy for two reasons. First, I had emailed him a week or two before, just to kind of check in. He had not responded. Second, by his own admission he did look pretty rugged. He was stopping in” to pick up a take-out order.

He gave me his permission to use the run-in as a teaching moment. You may have heard me say, we are lucky if people remember one thing about us and we don’t get to pick that one thing. Soprano might look great 99% of the time. The one time you see him maybe that 1%, but that is what you will remember.

Maybe there is more reason than covid for using the curbside pickup. #presentation #firstimpression #coach
